Who to turn to for advice as a kinda non-trad applicant?

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out who/where to turn to for advice on possible reapplication strategies, but I feel lost. I was not a pre-med during undergrad, and graduated from the college of agriculture at a large state university (Ag and Medical Biotech degree, luckily got all the required pre-med courses through this). I reached out to my undergrad university, and they refuse to provide any support/advising for me now that I have graduated. I am a 3rd year NIH postbac IRTA (got an exception d/t change of career plans), but the pre-med advisors here are over-burdened with students (especially with the government changes) and only can provide a single 20 minute meeting once a month. I have thought about paying for a third party advisor, but am worried its going to be formulaic advice that honestly won't apply to my weird non-trad but kinda trad situation. Does anyone have experience with third party pre-med advising that doesn't feel formulaic?

Thanks in advance 🙂 Hopefully I can still get in this cycle and it won't matter... but planning is how I cope in times of uncertainty.

Do a WAMC post in that sub-forum so that you can get tailored advice based on your application.
Hi, I did that the other day and got no replies. I am thinking I may have made it too long and detailed, but am worried about leaving out context. Should I just simplify it and hope someone will take time to read it if I do that?

I don't see it if you posted it. I don't see one from the start of the cycle either.

Make an appointment too. See link below.

Hmmm... I did post it, I just altered my privacy settings to see if that makes it pop up. It says over 200 people viewed it though. I didn't know SDN existed when I applied this current cycle so I didn't post previously.

I will look into making an appointment at the link! I receive news from my continued review next Wednesday, so I'll probably make one soon after that date if its a WL or R.

Can you post the URL or permalink? It's not showing up to me.
