The aanswer is C. If there is a square opening then you shouldn't see those indentation on top and bottom of answer C right?

I made an educated guess on this one when i took this practice test. D and E seemed too narrow to me. and A and B are totally out. so i just guessed C adn got it right. but i still dont c y u need the indentations.

D and E are wrong, not because they are too narrow. If view from the front angel, the keyhole should look like a rectangle, with long side on the top and bottom, short side on the sides, the curve will not show.
C is correct, because it is the left or right angel view, the hole will indicates as indented.
Hope it helps.

you should realize that you can't judge depth as well as you can curvatures vs straight lines in a 2D depiction. I think this problem is a good example of this strange visual illusion.

you don't know if this object is cylindrical with a circular face or an oval face... You may assume that it is circular, but then you will see that none of the answers make sense.

Cut a square piece out of a the cardboard of a toilet paper roll and find out 😛

Since it is on a round surface there will be indentations.
