Angles have been my kryptonite. On a good day I score 12 which makes me want to jizz but normally I score 8-9 on this section. Before I didn't care as my approach was to destroy the other sections which would compensate for angle deficiencies.

But lately my intentions are to figure out angles so I can kill PAT. So I've been trying all kinds of methods such as laptop, parking the angles, riding down the water slide, etc. And I revisited the glancing technique which I gave up on too soon a while ago.

However, if you glance back and forth enough like a freak, this approach really works. The problem is when you stare at an angle after a few seconds, your eyes start to play games as everything appears the same. But if you keep glancing back and forth whether it's between 2 angles or 3 or all 4 angles, your eyes can discern the difference.

I just completed a CDP test and scored a perfect 15 baby! And like I mentioned, I usually only score around 8-9 on these things. That's proof in the doo-doo!

yeah good point

I kinda do similar to what you do. I quickly glance and number them in order in my head and look for the choice below. I stopped looking at the choices first because if you look for the largest angle/smallest angle first - yeah often times it works but when I have to differentiate between the two middle angles I tend to lose my focus and the two choices look the same. so I think not looking at the answer choice and just glance them and numbering them in order before looking at the choice helps I think.

I always get 8~9 on angle, but quickly glancing kinda works I guess. I score ~12 now. I will settle with 12 any day lol.

When are you clicking the DAT and are you applying this cycle?

the real has easier angles than CDP, CDP angles are 3 to 4 degrees apart; focus on 2009 ada angles instead.

Angles are my Kryptonite as well, I like the quick glance, and I have been trying to perfect the "mouse=pointer" technique. I use the edges of the mouse pointer to resolve the differences I can't get, I'm getting mixed results but feel this might have potential....

what is the mouse pointer technique, could you send me a link of that topic on here/

thanks

There is no link, I made it up. Not in the sense that it is fictitious, but that I have never heard nor seen anyone mention it. It is something I am trying out/making up/perfecting on my own. If it winds up helping or has potential I will post up a detailed explanation.
I would need to post a picture, but the basic idea is that you align the mouse pointer between the small part of the angle and compare to another angle using the mouse pointer as a reference point as you align it to the other angle......

I wouldn't be surprised if someone has tried/talked about this before, I just haven't come across it.....

aight thanks man, yah let me know if it works, i take my DAT in 1 week and I need all the help i can get o_o!!

My experience is that no matter what, angles will always be the lowest score. My theory is stick to practicing the other components of the PAT because it is possible with practice to get better at those. Take the 12 in the angle rankings and practice the pattern folding, Top/Side/End, and the hole punches.
