How common is whooping cough in adults? i Believe my dad might have it bc he has those characterstic whoops, and then i remember seeing a question in kaplan q bank about how as you age your immunity towards pertussin wanes, so i was wondering if its possible he might have it. If not, what other process could cause those characterstic whoops

It's relatively common but usually does not produces the characteristic "whoop".
Only way to be sure is to get a culture done.
