i am reapplying to UCB this year. i was waitlisted for UCB, but unfortunately i didn't get in.

however, just out of curiosity, i would like to ask some questions based on the following two quotes that were posted on 03/02/06 by alferec and 06/27/06 by still_confused respectively.







however, the funny thing is that from the first day i got the email of informing to be waitlisted to the final email before school started, all emails indicated a no change of my waitlist position. my position was remained the same through out the whole time. the school actually confirmed a no declined seat up to the end of july. so i am wondering how valid these two quotes are.
were you guys making fun of waitlisted people or you were just simply lying?

Ummm... I don't think either of those people were making fun or lying...... The school e mailed you and said no one declined their seat?? I would find it VERY hard to believe that every single person accepted to Berkley decided to go there...

well...the school did email me continuously till the end of august, and told me that there had been no change in my waitlist position . however, those two messages were posted way before the final email i got from school. that is why i have the questions. it is not a matter of if the first 60 people all accepted the seats or not. the key question is why if two people, as they indicated in the messages, who had given up their seats, but had no effect on my waitlist position till the end?!?

for the first time ever - no one got in from the waitlist! like all other schools UCBSO over accepted (that's why there are 61, instead of the usuaul 60) and only a few (less than 4) gave up their seats. it was a very wierd situtation. it might have had something to do with admit day (54/60 committed by 4/19) last year over 7 got in from the wait list.

My professor, who is on the admissions committee, confirmed with me last month that the waitlist had not moved and it was likely only a few or no students on the waitlist would be accepted. All schools over accept a few students, and I believe UCBSO accepted around 65 applicants while expecting people to decline their seats. However, not enough applicants this cycle declined their offer. The professor I spoke to believes that it has to do with the success of Admit Day. I hope that clarifies the situation.

I'm applying to SCCO, Pacific, ICO, PCO, Nova, Neco, and probably UCBSO and PR if my OAT are high or I didn't get into any in the states. SCCO is my 1st choice, and like fellow Californians, I would like to stay in California. 🙂

I don't want to apply to any school I'm not sure I'd like to go to. I figure theres no rush to jump into another four years of school so even a year off to reapply would be a nice breather. I'd still, however, go to any of these schools in a heartbeat (if I were offered admission, of course).

I applied to SCO, Indiana, and UHCO (my current preference is in that order).

I have been accepted to UHCO, expect to hear from SCO this week and will interview at Indiana November 6th.

Anyone know anything about the chances of getting scholarships at Indiana?

I am new to this forum, just found out about it at in interview this week. I have applied to a bunch of schools but got into NOVA two weeks ago and IU today. I have noticed alot of people on this website have stellar OAT scores and GPA's. Just to make anyone else feel better here are my stats:
