Who's gotten post-interview love from which programs?

Since Hopkins didn't fill last year, -does this mean that everyone on their rank list this year will potentially match? Don't know how to interpret the phone call.

To me, having it be "impossible" means that you are ranked within the top n spots on their list (with n being however many residents they take through the match). Maybe "statistically impossible" takes into account how far they usually go down their rank list, but that's a pretty shady way of phrasing it, if you ask me.

Got the e'mail too from Penn State x 2, as did 2 other applicants I met on the interview trail...probably generic, especially receiving it twice. Won't change the way I rank them one bit.
 
hopkins PD took me out to dinner.

ucsf PD gave me a 2 for 1 to Sizzler

mgh PD gave me a microscope

stanford PD gave me a new prius.

i think they like me...i really think the like me! 😍

God, Priuses (or is it Priii?) are SO Stanford. And fleece. I picture everyone at Stanford always wearing fleece.

(I interviewed at Duke and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.)

a lousy t-shirt? Duke gave me a Blue Devils Sweatshirt and cap. Must be a good sign. 👍

a prius is cool...but i heard that guys at stanfurd eat paste. not exactly my delicacy.

i got letters/emails from duke, nw, upitt, yale.

Thats funny..Pitt said they never send out anything to their applicants concerning how they were liked in the interviews or ranking stuff.. Big liars I guess

I think the ultimate post-interview show of love would be my top places ranking me in the top n on their ROL 😀

I really did only get a t-shirt from duke (and responses to my thank you notes, and a packet from the department in the reg mail.) Will demand my sweatshirt. 🙂

Stanford (FTFY) residents eat more granola than paste. Hippies.

~error404 is currently doing a rotation at Stanford, eating lots of oatmeal, and loving it. (Note: rotation not in intended field.)
 
i got a call from hopkins and ucsf last week..email from pitt over the weekend. 🙂

hopefully i dont have to go down the list to where i'm fiddling around.

can't wait for the results. best wishes to everyone. its been a fun ride from beginning to ....😍

i got offered a marie calendars strawberry pie during the final hours...

it effectively swayed my decision because i was quite hungry. 👍
 
Anyone get anything this year?

So far, Hopkins just sent their generic "placing you on our rank list" email that they supposedly send to everyone, and I just got an email from Temple saying I'm an "outstanding candidate" and they "will be pleased if you match with our program."

Is this the post-interview email stating something about can't tell exactly where you are on the rank list but "I guarantee that it will be sufficiently high enough to make a successful match very possible"?

That's the paragraph verbatim. Did yours say something different?
 
I got thank you letters from UMDNJ - Newark and Tufts...nothing really saying about the rank but thank you:xf::xf:

I got generic letters from duke, yale, and upenn mostly just thanking me for coming. I got an email from Einstein that they are ranking me and a phone call from mgh that they thought highly of me.
 
Thank you card from umkc, interview follow up phone call from Indiana PD, and $200 check from Kentucky.
 
Has anyone gotten an email/letter/phone call from anyone recently, specifically Penn, Duke, or UVA? Just curious.

Was the phone call from mgh coming from the chief resident or the program director? I have heard both versions...

i don't know if it matters, perhaps they just split up the list of interviewees randomly..

I have not heard anything from Vermont of Maine.

I got a little love from Dartmouth in that the form of a letter the program director, anybody else get this? It looked generic.
 
Lengthy one-page letter from Northwestern yesterday...very flattering but possibly generic. I'm mainly curious how they described everyone ie. mine says you are "one of the finest candidates" etc. I imagine they told their top applicants they are ranked to match...anyone?

I couldn't resist a little masochism: Anyone hear anything from these places? Also, any thoughts on how to interpret encouragement in personal correspondence?

i heard back within like 5 minutes (which really shocked me--i get really nervous opening emails from PDs!). basically, the person was like, thanks for emailing, good to hear you like us, yada yada, i think you'll probably end up wherever you want to go, yada yada, <insert warm fuzzy words here>. not sure what to make of any of this. regardless, i told them i'm ranking them #1 and i definitely will. it's my favorite program and i'll regret it forever if i didn't at least try to go there.

haven't heard anything from anesthesiology programs but did hear back from transitional year programs saying you "you are well ranked with us" and similar statements...

i didnt really plan on hearing back from the gas programs but stillllllll it would be nice!

I have received no phone calls. Am I totally F-ed? Or is it because I am a caribbean IMG and they dont want to catch any diseases from talking to me? All of the above?

In the meantime I drown my pain from stressing about the match with a double dose of chick flick pain: First I will watch "Dear John"...then I will catch the midnight showing of "Valentines Day." Surely after that I wont even think about not matching.

When did you interview at MCW? I haven't heard anything yet, and I'm not sure why. I interviewed in mid-January.


Also, got a phone call about 2 weeks ago from a resident at SUNY downstate saying "You are a strong applicant, blah, blah, blah."

I interviewed on Dec. 22nd, right before Christmas. I am unsure why you haven't heard anything back yet. You can't put too much weight into responses you get from PDs. Good luck with match.

Hey did anyone get post brigham mail? Just got a letter, not sure if its generic or if its the real deal that they "were impressed and will rank me accordingly." Not even sure what that really means after the stories i've read on this forum....care to shed light?

Yeah who really knows? But I'm sure anything is better than nothing. How long back did you interview?

Btw what happened to rads?
