With all of the talk about the upcoming cuts, who among us is considering jumping the fence and running the high-end of the business instead of working in the trenches?

I was thinking of a JD anyone can get an MBA on the weekends or evenings in just over a year and what will that get you? A 120K per year job as an hospital administrator.
With a JD you can waste their time and more importantly money with frivolous lawsuits until they give into your way of thinking.
Good point. I think that with either degree, though, you can go into consulting, which, from what I hear, is where the bigger bucks are to be found (as compared to working as an anesthesiologist).

if you make the effort to go through anesthesia training, then focus on being an anesthesiologist. the only advantage to having an mba is to understand a little better the business side of things, not necessarily to be involved in running the business. because, as a clinician, every minute you spend outside the OR you're losing money. mba's and accoutants count beans. you're providing the beans for them to count. get a good mba/accountant in your practice, which is money well spent, and focus on what you do best: taking care of patients.
