Today, I called Columbia and asked them about my application status. The lady told me to wait, and few minutes after, she said my application just came in from AADSAS (most recent send out date). I was... "what??????"
My application was sent out to every dental school I applied more than 3 month ago and about 2 month ago, I received a letter from Columbia that my application is incomplete because my photo is missing... (which I sent 4 month ago with the check). The next day I got the letter, I sent another photo to Columbia and waited for their response. And today I called them to make sure my application was complete, and they are saying that my application just came in.!! What is going on here? Do I have to blame AADSAS about this? Anyone in this situation????

You can call AADSAS and complain.... They will, in the nicest way possible, tell you to F-OFF!

the aadsas is totally unorganized when it comes to processing and sending out applications. EVERYONE here knows what that is like and who's fault it REALLY IS. but there's not much you can really do in this situation. most schools probably wont have any sympathy for you either. the best you can do is keep calling and check to see if your application is complete. if it isn't, keep resending the stuff until they have everything.

That really sucks. As bad as AADSAS is, why did Columbia send you that postcard about the missing photo if they didn't have the rest of your application? They lulled you into a false sense of security. Though I wouldn't have waited 4 months to follow up 😳

i had a couple situations like that when i applied, but i think what happened was my application was complete but the school left it in the incomplete pile on accident cuz when i called they were like "well your application is incomplete" i ask what is missing "well let me see . . . . umm . . . erm . . . yeah its completed so it should be reviewed soon"

but nonetheless, i hated aadsas too when i applied, they took like 3 months to process my application which was sweet

That really sucks 😡 I can imagine your pain. AADSAS is so messed up. Luckily I didn't get that problem, but a delayed mail was enough to freak me out. My application was sent to schools more than 3 month ago too. I didn't hear anything from Columbia until a week ago I got the interview invite. The letter was mailed out on Sept. 17. It took over a month and a half to get to me!! I should've received an early interview date, but now I could only schedule in late Jan.

I applied early june with all required materials... SUNY recieved it A WEEK AGO missing the LORs from them! weirdos...
