Why BCP, not BCPM?
Started by wolfram241
Not sure what you're asking. Math is included in the overall GPA, but not the science GPA.bkpa2med said:Is that just for BCP that they dont take math, or in general as well?
I wouldn't think so, but not sure.bkpa2med said:Yep, that is what I was asking. Thank you. Also, do you know if psychology/developmental psych go under the science GPA?
F
FS-Pro
BCP:
biology
chemistry
physics
I believe this it what it stands for.

bkpa2med said:Yes but I've heard in the past that psychology could be considered. I don't know.
Was it mostly biologically based such as neurotransmitters, brain structures and such?
Sounds to me it may go into psych.
Usually Calculus and college math gives people trouble. I would actually predict a decline in stats if math was included.wolfram241 said:I don't understand why Osteopathic schools don't consider Math as part of the science grade. It seems to me that they could raise their stats if they included math, like Allopathic schools. Any ideas?
Odd. I go to a school with extremely difficult sciences (compared to other institutions I've studied at), and math here is easy. Guess it varies, but good for me!BrettBatchelor said:Usually Calculus and college math gives people trouble. I would actually predict a decline in stats if math was included.

I tutor physics and math. It seems like people are good with biological sciences or physical sciences. You don't even know how many bio majors I have helped.wolfram241 said:Odd. You don't use math in medical school beyond a 7th grade level. What's the point?
(FYI for me: A's in Organic Chem & Bio...B's/C's in Gen Chem, Physics, & Calculus --> A's in Medical School)
So could you count math in the BCP gpa if you wanted?
What about statistics? I took a biological statistics course taught by the public health dept at my school, would the go in the BCP gpa? "Epidemiology and disease" BCP?
What about nurtitional sciences?

Statistics is included.
Did u really take basketweaving? Was there an underwater lab?

No

If it is in the department of biology, then I'm sure it can.
