I was wondering, besides the money, why did everyone choose to go medical school?

Dude. I don't think an invite to g-mail is worth signing up for all the spam and popups you stand to gain from signing up for the iPod thing. Now if you're giving away something GOOD...

I think there's a few threads/polls on why people from SDN chose medicine as a career....choices included prestige, challenge, helping people, money, enjoyment of science, etc....

You arent replying to his original post - it was another one of those free google mail/free IPod/free lunar module posts. He changed it later.

i think medicine is a great way to experience the human condition. you get to be with people during the best and worst times of their lives. on top of that you get to learn some really cool science. and you get to drive a bmw.

If you're going into med for the money...thats the worst reason you can choose med.
Personaly I chose med becuase it is the best job in the world...well next to astronaut lol.

Being a doctor is not the best way to make money, if that is your motivation. I'd go into finance, marketing, or become a stock broker if money was what I was after. You take on less debt, and can make more money much faster.

Wow, me too. Astronaut was my first choice, but now I guess I will settle for flight surgeon. 😀

I want a career that resembles the show Scrubs. Janitor is my second choice.
