if youre going into dentistry, or any profession really, for the fame and trying to become the big man on campus.... do something else please.
you think you're doing a good deed, but good deeds are done spontaneously.
when a patient comes in for a consult and finds out they cant afford a procedure, but you see it in their eyes that they really want it, and they've sold their car, alot of their belongings and have picked up an extra job just to TRY and save up for this, THATS A GOOD DEED.
if you want the fame and popularity of being "that guy", then do something else. all of youre peers will know you're fake.
trust me, i want to help the next guy just as much as you. I see pages of letters at our office for people who really WANT the help. but its the ones that catch you off guard that really NEED it.
