what was the main and honest reason u guys choose the field of dentistry, was it for the money, job security, hours or what i am just curious cause i was thinking of dentistry as an option but scared of going into it for the wrong reasons. Also anyone start dental school and hate it and wish they never did it, anyone with non traditional backgrounds, example took time off, non science undergrad majors, switch fields, etc... i would love to hear ur stories. Anyone experience bad anxiety and panic attacks while in dental school if so how did it come about and how did u deal with it.

I'm experiencing my first real case of anxiety, but that's because finals are coming up. I picked dentistry because i liked the hours, and like hurting people even more...oh and the faculty at school are just the most awesome people, ever...... hope this was helpful ;)

Work hours, money, independence, and... (this is where non-dentists roll their eyes and say "whatever" ) I just think dentistry is cool.

what i had in my mind was that rather than indulging into a vast field like medicine why not to stick yourself to just a part of body. if u do medicine it takes more hardwork and requires more knowledge 2 b a good professional and a perfect physician. although dentistry isnt tat easy but sticking 2 field tat is a specialization in its own i think is better. then no night duties no emergencies and no tension lesser life threatening problems  . if u hav failed in ur treatment u ll just extract a tooth there is no danger to a person's life :)
