So a side affect is hypotension for anticholinergics. I'm not understanding the mechanism to this... since cholinergics cause hypotension too. Can someone provide an explanation. Thanks!
I think there are 2 big reasons (probably other mechanisms as well):
ganglionic blockade -> blocked sympathetic reflexes for postural changes (orthostatic hypotension)
cholinergic block at the adrenal medulla -> decreased NE, Epi outflow
