Why do you guys think RVUCOM hasn't been added?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Why do you think Rocky Vista hasn't been added on AACOMAS and Pacific COM has? Didn't they get pre-accredation on the same day?

RVUCOM is still becoming an AACOM member school and as soon as they have a relationship, the school will be added to AACOMAS. It took Pacific Northwest a little while to become an AACOM school, so give it some time.

It's because if we all pretend RVU doesn't exist ... it will eventually just go away. The AOA is using this ploy as well 👍

Yes! very well said, and lets hope that it works.

I believe that it has to be a unanimous vote of acceptance by ACOMAS board members to be included.

OK, I know this will sound stupid, but what's the problem with RVU? I've heard everyone saying something about it being for profit, but what does that mean?

Hey Pamolive... click here. Should give you some good readin to whet your appetite.

Can I ask why they have RANDOM jewish holidays thrown in there 😕 ? It looks like they plan to start processing soon, they don't have their membership to AACOM yet.

Updated AACOMAS Information

At its meeting last weekend, the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) granted initial provisional accreditation to Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

RVUCOM is in the process of joining AACOM. Once that process is complete the college will be added to the AACOMAS Web site for designation for applications. Until then, applicants who want to initiate an application can complete the AACOMAS application through the point of submission and payment and have their application saved for submission once the college is added for designation.

It will be added in a couple hours👎thumbdown

I hope to god no one submits an application this cycle ... if they don't warn students about the loan situation, it is going to be an absolute disaster until they can work something out. I guess all we can do now is wait and see what happens ...😡

Seriously? What I think will be weird if SDNers do apply and matriculate. Then there might be some major arguments going on in the Osteopathic forum.

You'd have a day off from school those days... good time to get in an interview?

If they have a couple more days off that is a couple more days they dont have to pay hourly staff. Since the tuition is set, there is no increase of funds for staying open. Just a couple more bills to the wallet:idea:

Do most schools give Jewish holidays off?

I'd assume most public schools. All of my friends and myself, all at public schools in different areas, all have off on Thursday and Friday.

Wow, I would love to go to a school that got more holidays off. The public university I went to did not give Jewish holidays off. Then I transferred to a Bible college and we definitely did not get Jewish holidays off. The school for my MPH program doesn't either but last year we didn't even get MLK Jr. day off. Maybe I've been picking the wrong schools. 😛

Very interesting. Well, myself and most of my friends go to schools in New York. Since we have a lot of Jewish people in the area, maybe that is why we get those days off when others don't.

well if you check your emails...youll see that AACOM just sent you a message letting you know that Rocky Vista University is now officially on the list of schools which we can apply to....
