Barnes and Noble says 4 used from $179.84 for the first edition (published 2002), and Amazon says 2 used and new from $189.99. The new version on Examkrackers.com only costs like $40 though. And the new version on Amazon (but sold out) is only $26. What's going on here?

Anyone selling for more than $40 is a thief, anyone buying over $40 is an idiot. Both editions of that book are garbage.

Basically when Examkrackers pulled EK101 (1st ed) off the shelves, thereby off of Amazon & BN.com, people decided to sell their used books for those prices you mentioned above. With fewer copies I guess people figure demand goes up, but I don't know who would buy the 1st ed for +$160 when they could buy the 2nd ed for $40...

EK is only selling the 2nd edition on its website, BN and Amazon only carry the 1st edition and quickly ran out of stock, so mercenary 3rd party sellers are posting inflated prices.

Hilarious. They're the same book.

yes.. quite sad and ridiculous situation.

However, I have heard many pre-meds bought the first edition for almost 100 dollars off Amazon and e-bay during the period when the first edition was out-of-stock on Amazon and the second edition was not out.

No competent person would do that any longer as the second edition can be bought for 50 dollars on EK website including shipping. At least I hope not.

😀

i ordered 101 for 40 bucks on 6/29 off Borders and it still hasn't arrived! omg, i tried contacting their customer service but they won't respond. what the hell, i don't know what to do.
