Why does everyone say wrote the DAT?

Those who say write/wrote DAT are Canadian students.

Its a language thing. British speakers will for instance "sit" for an exam.
 
It's an English thing... it sounds weird to Americans because they speak a different language called American 😀
 
Let's keep in mind that the English language is not the cultural birthchild of the United States of America. Rather, America butchered it and turned it into something else entirely. 😳
