Why does first aid show V1 coming out of foramen rotundum?

Page 478 of FA 2016....don't understand why V1 is comin gout of the foramen rotundum along with V2.

Also - shouldnt the foramen spinosum be a tiny hole right next to and lateral to the foramen ovale? This picture doesn't seem to match up with uworld or what I've seen in lecture..
