Why does OB/GYN appeal to you?

Hi,

Just wondering what you find appealing about OB/GYN. I have taken a development class in college, which I truly enjoyed. I also think the female physiology/endocrinology is very fascinating. As a male, I have obviously had no direct experience with pregnancy but I think the link between a mother and fetus is endlessly absorbing and complex.

Seriously, can someone give me a rundown on what makes OB/GYN work for you.

do a search of this forum, there are quite a few threads dealing with it....

in short, for me:
1) primary care and surgery
2) generally healthy patient population
3) delivering babies is unbelievable!!!!
4) i love the excitement, and the feel of being on deck...
5) excellend opportunities for great fellowships
6) easy to customize your practice as your life changes (ie, drop OB, gyn only, family planning, etc...)
