Why doesn't AMCAS support Google Chrome?!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Virtually any other browser is > IE.

Personally I like Firefox, Camino, Opera.. probably use Firefox most often.

Oh crap it doesn't? That's gonna suck. I can't really use my Firefox because I purposely installed 2.0 because TPR sucks and you can only take your exams on the earliest versions of firefox and IE 6 and 7. So I can't really update my Firefox....lets just hope I don't have to take the MCAT again so I can update it

The most painful part of web development is making sure your stuff works in every browser. IE's gotten a lot a better now, but it used to be that your site would work perfectly (or close to it) in Firefox/Chrome/Safari, but fall to pieces in IE. So you'd have to use a lot of dirty CSS hacks, or browser-specific code to make your site presentable and usable for all users.

So, it costs AMCAS money and developer hours to get that site working, and they don't want to spend more making sure it works in Chrome.

Lol, not only do they not support Chrome, but here are the browsers that they currently support:
IE 7
Firefox 3
Netscape 7🤣

No support for Safari, either. Last year when I was applying I had to find and download an old (read dinosaur) version of Firefox in order to work on the application on my Mac at home.

It also doesn't support Linux or BSD (except Macs).

Google user agent switcher for a workaround.

Edit: interestingly, AACOMAS supports Chrom(e/ium) even on Linux. another reason to apply DO. 👍
