Why don't adcoms every speak up on SDN?

So the NOVA dean (Dr Lippman, way cool guy) came recruiting at our school yesterday and in the presentation put in a plug for SDN and mentioned that they check it often to see interview feedback.

It seems the SDN population seems to be higher calibre than the average applicant and that SDN be a good place to recruit. Do they just not have time to get on SDN to answer questions? I would be way impressed with a school that did that over lame schools that won't even talk to you over the phone.

They are probably way too busy as it is! Most of the adcoms I spoke with talk down on SDN, saying its too random and too much misinformation to even waste your time with it, clearly Im not taking their advice!

The smart schools are the ones who pay people like oracle and armor to be their sdn school liasons 🙂 I kid, I kid. But for real, everyone admissions department has people to check sdn, partially out of amusement I'm sure. It would be pretty frustrating to be from one of the schools that is victim to the sdn group thought criticism. I would be pretty pissed if I had to read the inane banter that gets spewed across the forums.

Huh that's interesting because Nova made this big deal in the presentation on "pay attention to how the school treats you. If they won't speak with you on the phone or help you, then you probably don't want to go there."

I've never had to call them and don't even want to go to Nova, just figured their presentation would be interesting.

Sometimes people other than ADCOMs represent the school, I don't have time to read all the threads, I just try to spot the ones that have information on (usually at least slightly incorrect) or ask questions about Loma Linda. Don't mislead yourself though, from some of the threads I've read, I wouldn't necessarily consider SDN posters a stronger group to choose from than the general applicant pool😉😀

I got their dean on the phone once. Admittingly that was an accident but ....

no complaints here...I think it'd be beneficial if every school had someone to step in and dispel myths with anecdotal evidence
