Why don't schools publish the max # of reapps they will accept?

I always told myself that I would be willing to apply to medical school as many times as it takes. However it has come to my attention that many schools (not just the top tier schools) only accept up to 2 apps ("3rd application will not be considered" or something along those lines).

Is there a way to know which schools enforce this policy? I realize I am thinking way way ahead but I like to be prepared for the worst. I definitely don't want to waste my money and want to think wisely about schools I send a 2nd app to (if I ever have to reapply...). If we call the schools asking if we should reapply (3rd time or more, for example) are they likely to be upfront about their policy?

Apply once, when you are ready.

I will, of course. But there will always be aspects of my application that are relatively weak or deficient. I can only spend so much time improving before just applying and taking a chance. Ex: my science GPA is kind of below average. However I have spent a long time trying to raise it but because of all the credits I have it's not going to increase by much. I would try to continue taking a science class or two between app cycles if I ever have to reapply.

It should be on their website. Sometimes it is also in the MSAR.

Thank you! If they have nothing listed about this is it safe to assume they don't have any policy like this/won't auto reject such reapplicants?

If there is no stated policy, you can reasonably assume that re applications are considered. It is also likely that they may be viewed differently than first applications.

How so? Like to see if they have made the effort to improve significantly between cycles?

They kind of expect significant improvement between cycles. That's why people tell you that you really only want to apply one time with the best application possible. What is your sGPA that you are so concerned about!

how does a 3.49 science gpa look? i have a 3.64 overall

Are you applying this cycle? What is your MCAT? So much depends on your ECs and your school list. It is so important that you pick school with stats and missions and locations that fit you. I've been reading posts on here that report on a study or whatever done that schools stated that one of the big reasons students are rejected a second time is that they reapply the very next cycle. I guess it's a very good thing to take your time and fix your application before reapplying. Again m just talking since I have no idea where you are in the application process. But Good Luck!

Some schools get their high stats students from the re applicant pool. Others do not seem to care for them at all. State schools tend to be more forgiving.
Could you elaborate more on how schools get high stats students from the re-applicant pool? I fall into this category and I'm hoping to have more success this cycle. Thanks!

These tend to be private schools with modest median MCAT's.
