I've only driven by G-Town once in my life, and I don't live anywhere nearby.

I know the why G-Town part of the interview is important.

Any opinions on why G-town?

What is great about it, the city?
specific things?

Ask in Preallo, I am sure they will have a ton of answers. This is Allo, we dont care.

I don't understand, what do you want to know about gusom?

are you looking for people to give you answers for your interview. dood, look it up yourself and find out why g-town suits you.

ill bite.

most medical schools are the same, in that they try to make you think that they are different or unique, when they really arent. georgetown is the same. they will talk about early patient contact, good match list, dc area with a lot of opportunities, great teachers, etc. but the thing about georgetown is that they actually are different from a lot of schools with their cura personalis philosophy. read up on it and definitely mention it in your interviews. even when you get here, they preach cura personalis and offer a lot of opportunities to learn more than just book medicine. also they have been updating their M1, M2 curriculum a lot so talk about that. they make it very easy for the students to succeed and have cut out a lot of overlap between classes.

The secondary essay for G-Town is "Why Georgetown" or something thereabouts. I remember not doing that secondary last year because I honestly couldn't come up with anything that didn't sound like a steaming pile of s***, even to me. The OP is looking for "help" writing his secondary.

Georgetown mainly seems to emphasize two things: ethics, and cura personalis. I would recommend explaining why they're important to you and to your future plans for practicing medicine (assuming they are). They also seem to look for students who really want to attend Georgetown. Coming from a Jesuit or Ivy league undergrad doesn't hurt either.

What's an OP?

I already have an interview there. I'm trying to get in the right mindset for the interview so I don't mess it up :/

yes, I'm an M1, and so far I'm very happy here. other people in this thread have brought up some of the things that make GU unique; there are probably others, but the fact is that you're going to find out a decent amount about the school on the actual interview day. You might find some things you really like, and you might find some things that rub you the wrong way. If they keep the interview day format similar to what I experienced last year, you'll have an accurate picture of the school before you go into the actual interview. By then, you should have some basic idea of how you like it and how you might (or might not) fit in.

Don't worry so much about the interview; try to relax and just be yourself. Of all the schools I visited, I found GU's atmosphere, student population, and curriculum to fit my personality and learning style very well. Some of the other people who interviewed with me that day agreed with me, while others weren't so sure. If you have specific questions I'll do my best to answer, but if you're just wondering how you'll like it....you just won't know until you visit.
