Why haven't some programs retrieved info?

The majority of the programs I applied to have retrieved all my information with the exception of my dean's letter. However, there are a few who have retrieved nothing. Are they already rejecting me? Do they know anything about me at this point? Is any one else having this problem?

A program has got to be pretty damn arrogant to reject you before seeing what school you went to, what grades you got, what your USMLE score was, and what your LOR's say. They essentially would have just rejected you based on your name if they rejected you before downloading anything. I wouldn't worry about it, several of the schools that I applied to haven't downloaded anything either. It's completely school dependent.

Where do you go to find out who has retrieved what?

Click on the ADTS tracking link on My Eras or click on login to the ADTS tracking system on the MyEras login page. After that, you can select programs that you applied to using that bar you see in the middle of the page to see what programs have downloaded what.

i was thinking that they were waiting for dean's letters so they could download everything all at once. this is just my opinion, not based on any outside info.

I contacted the few programs who hadn't downloaded my stuff. Turns out, they haven't even ordered the ERAS 2004 software yet! (these aren't dinkly little programs either)

When I was applying, the programs that delayed downloading stuff forever and ever were apparently waiting for the Dean's letter; once Nov 1st came, they all downloaded the stuff (except one program that just irked me with their utter tardiness).

I think they can select for specific criteria before selecting which to download. For example only download applications with USMLE Step 1 > 220. That way a program that receives hundreds of applications dont have to download everyone's app to sort through.

Makes sense, but you can tell whether they've downloaded your USMLE transcript as well. The couple that haven't downloaded my stuff didn't take anything yet. They were (for pediatrics) NYU and JHU.

The link above explains how the residency programs can filter for whatever USMLE score they want, and/or AOA status.

And remember that some programs only download information when its time for the committees to meet - this might be once a week, once a month, not until October, etc.

Once again, its TOO early to worry - some programs may never download your information (dependent on some sort of filter), others will and won't contact you and certainly many will and will offer you an interview. Don't try to read too much into the ADTS.
