Well I turned in the secondary 8/7 and didn't even get that confirmation number that they said they would e-mail. Recently(over a month after submit and after many interviews given out) I e-mailed them asking about it and they gave me a confirmation number. I checked the status and it showed they were missing one LOR which isn't probable because my letters came as a committee packet. I e-mailed them to double check the packet and they e-mailed back saying. Oops it was there the whole time. Sorry for the mix up. Your application is complete and will be forwarded to the committee for review. I'm not too bothered by it but I guess this is a lesson to everyone to double check all your stuff because mistakes can happen. This would have never been caught if I didn't do something about it and it would have been a wasted application. It would suck if this happened with one of your top schools.

This happened to me at NYU with my DAT scores. I am reapplying so they told me to write a letter asking them to transfer my DAT scores over to this year. I did this a few months ago and found out last week they hadn't done it. I called them, they found my scores, and I received an email later that day saying my app was complete. It is a little frustrating, so you must check and make sure your app is complete at all schools.

This exactly happend to me with ASDOH, they are apparantly a little loopy when they look at those letters. Except I called them several time and they told me it wasn't there... So anyway they finally got it fixed and now my app is at the bottom of the stack. So you and I are sitting in the same boat... WAITING TO BE REVIEWED! SUX

This has happened to me with three schools so far. Case had one of my science professors classified as a non science letter, UoP had my letters screwed up and so did ASDOH. If you haven't recieved an application complete status from a school, call or email them to find out.

Applying to dental schools is a huge deal, and certainly something that can keep you up at night with stress and anticipation. Remember that schools are getting many applications--3,000 or so in Arizona's case--which is a lot of paperwork to file and keep track of.
