Has anyone tried "Delirium Tremens?" My PD told me about it (he's Irish, after all), and I tell ya, it is probably the best beer I've ever had.

Blue Moon with an orange in it is pretty good too.

Not sure about the connection your making between DT and Irish folk (are you suggesting they are alcoholics and therefor know every beer there is 😕 or does DT have Irish roots, I thought it was Dutch) Either way since we are talking about great beers and someone said Irish I have to highly recommend Kinsale. It's the best lager I have ever had hand's down.
Also have to agree with Rasputin. Kick's guinness's heine but it's way to rich to waste on a car bomb. Which by the way you have not lived till you have had and Eastern Shore (Md) car bomb. Take out the whiskey and add a raw oyster and your there.
Will definatly try the blue moon with an orange in it. Thanks for the tip.

While I can drink Guiness by itself, my pint of choice in a pub is a black 'n tan. Good stuff.

As for local beers, I was a huge fan of Celis Pale Bock. It was a Belgian brewery in Austin that sadly is no more. Sniff. Moment of silence, please.

Oh, and I can get Turbo Dog in Galveston. Granted, not all that far from its home but still out of state. One of my favs with raw oysters.

Take care,
Jeff

If you like Rasputin Stout, you should also try Arrogant Bastard Ale. Great, complex taste and 7.2% alcohol.

Nothing like Arrogant Bastard Ale, but you've got to try the Double Bastard nothing like 10%. But if it's alcohol content your after then Samuel Adams Millennium Beer at 20% is the ticket. it can be found under the "Extreme Beer" section. Apparently they used super ninja yeast to reach that content level.

Happy Drinking 👍

No shout-outs for Bell's or New Glarus breweries?

Bell's Oberon & New Glarus' Spotted Cow are my personal faves...maybe it's a midwest thing.

Well, if we're talking Midwest, then we should mention the Linenkugel's brewery in Chippewa Falls, WI, and its family of awesome craft beers. There may be a few too many "chick beers" in the stable for me overall, what with the Honey Weiss, the Berry Weiss, and the potential Apple-Cran Weiss, but the quality of everything is top-notch. I plan to take several cases of Liene's with me when I move to New England. The Creamy Dark stacks up against Guinness oh so very well.

 to Febrifuge for hijacking this thread...
Aw, thanks. But the thanks go to the usual suspects for taking my expression of "due respect" for the original question, and running with it.

Apollyon - I can get TurboDog at Total Wine here in Winston-Salem. Come over and get some!
