I've interviewed multiple times as a summer intern and a grad intern with Target with no luck. Friends of friends that work for Target, past Target preceptors, and actual Target pharmacists have been recommending/referring me without me asking them to. I have friends that are grad interns say that my personality fits well with the culture. Even the recruiter has mentioned that she's gotten multiple e-mails from quite a few team members about myself. Right now, I'm just waiting for her response as to what the future holds for me.

The only problem is that I just can't get through the interviews. I make it to the 3rd interview and I crash. I'm determined to be a Target pharmacist and I feel so qualified and so passionate to work for them! When I had my rotation with Target (my first community experience), I just felt comfortable with everything I was doing for the most part. I just don't know what to do anymore. Any advice?

it's not hard to get a job at Target...it just seems that way because they are looking for a certain "type" of people.

I did a APPE with Target. Those people are like a cult. It was weird. I got completely turned off by that APPE so I sought employment with Walmart instead.

Ya. I def get a weird vibe with a lot of these corporate places.....real cult-like feel (Costco seems to have it too). It can be a little jarring. They seem to be a pretty good company to work for though.

The most annoying thing is when the manager comes every week to tell the pharmacist what he wants the pharmacist to work on based on his store scores. When I was there they only had 10 tech hours per week and the manager told the pharmacist he wanted her to be out in the ailes more to ask shoppers if they need help finding otc products. I was their only student that year so who the heck would he want behind the counter, no one?

this is what you get when you have mba graduates from university of phoenix online to be your store managers

That target manager was kind of a jerk, but I remember someone else saying he made a huge salary and lived in a really nice house.

Target in general is kind of a weird cult-ish place to work, in and out of the pharmacy.

I love it as a shopper though.

But it's like...Damn, the Target cult kool-aid must got some kick to it.

A friend of mine gave me tips for getting hired by Target years before I started pharmacy school. Their worker slogan is "Fast, Fun and Friendly" service, so figure out a way to work the phrase into your interview a few times.
