Albertsons produces first pharmacy tech in nation to administer immunization

Saw this and have seen a lot of varying opinions. What do you all think? As a practicing community pharmacists I can see both sides.

Is this another step to reducing pharmacist labor or a step towards increasing clinical tasks?

If a properly trained medical assistant in my clinic can give an injection, why not a properly trained pharmacy technician?

It's such low hanging fruit task-wise, I can't imagine anyone wanting to fight this. It's good for patients and good for public health.

Giving the actual shot is pretty simple. I wouldn't be against this. However, if it takes away from an already tight tech budget, it'd be a challenge.
