SD = laid back nature of SF + beachy OC culture, IMO. Oh, and Mexican food...please tell me you ventured to Chula Juana for some south-of-the-border goodness.

laid back = super suck

beachy = suck

mexican food = suck

F-18 = super ultra suck

quadruple suck right there. hated SD 😡

No good food in SD minus a handful of places.

What DO you like, kmoogs?

he likes sweaty east coast massholes, walking really fast, and singing kumbaya while promoting communism and passing out anti-war leaflets and mao suits because he's too pasty to enjoy the beach. am i right? :meanie:

If there is one thing I am afraid of if I have to move to the east coast, it's not being able to find GOOD, AUTHENTIC Mexican food easily. It is one great thing about living in a border state.

I'm dying out here...I'm sick of f*cking italian food/pizza/hoagies/sandwiches, I want my good japanese and mexican food please....stupid east coast, you fail at everything! 🙁

SD has almost no good authentic food. TWO quality japanese places in the entire area including DT, DT LJ, LJ, UTC, and more. THREE decent italian places. ZERO french places. And outside of those places, the only decent places to eat was DT LJ and traffic was terrible getting in and out of there. The rest of SD is just chain restaurant garbage, greasy mexican food, or Americanized "ethnic" food.

And people in SD walk waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow. Even New Yorkers walk too slow for me but they get out of my way. SD'ers go out of their way to STAY in my way. And everyone is freaking stoned in that city -_-. No one has ambition, drive, or goals. They're just all beach bums or drifting students. The entire city and the surrounding area has no ambition.

And it's too far from the mountains. And makes me drive an extra 140 miles to Tahoe every year (280 to and back). And there's only a couple decent golf courses in SD ... It has its charm but not as a "live in" city. It's more of a "visit for 1-2 days a year" city.

And east coast does semi-fail at asian food.

DT, DT LJ, LJ, UTC, and more.

dude, those are like the worst places to go for food.

It's all about convoy, south side chula vista, maybe mira mesa...you listed all the white bougie areas with no good places to eat.

but i will concur that the SF bay area has 100x better food options than SD.

east coast sucks...can't wait to get out of here. i want my 75 degree summers & 65 degree winters back. oh and you can keep your humidity.

convoy blows. outside of K-1, the rest of the food there fails. It's all KOREAN owned asian food. Korean owned japanese/chinese is terrible. And the broth in every Pho place up and down convoy and clairemont is overloaded with MSG. And there's a limit to how much korean food you can eat in a week before coming down with GI problems. And the sushi blows in SD except for Ota. Sushi Ota blows everything else away down there to the point its not even worth going to the other places.

on a scale of 1 to 100, SD rates a 2 on the asian food meter. LA and SF are infinitely better in quality and variety.
