In an open file interview, should you re-hash stuff from your personal statement to support claims or should you talk about fresh new experiences as to why?

I've always been told that during an open file, you should suspect that they haven't read or know anything about you unless they say something directly about your ps or your file. It could be a busy physician who picked up an extra shift that couldn't find time to review your file before hand etc.

Also how long should this response be? 2 minutes? < 1 minute?

Ah okay thanks! So i guess it will be better to mention stuff from my PS

I'm also thinking about one more thing as I prepare for some of my interviews hahaha. I'd like to say my desire to help others and my interest in science. I know it's cookie cutter, but as long as it's sincere and I back it up with some pretty unique personal experiences that should be the differentiator?

Talk about whatever you like and what interests you. They're just getting to know you as a person. There are no set steps for interviewing. Just be yourself and relax.

The interview is about showing your best attributes rather than saying them. Anybody can say they want to help people but not everyone has your story that solidifies your desire to help people

"because I really like the "whole person approach" and want to treat the cause rather than just the symptoms….wait…can you…erhm…repeat the question please"
