Why though?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are they the same users doing both these things?

In any case, I went from pharmacy school to med school and don't understand why people on this forum tend to caution against that transition. It's a reasonable and not uncommon switch.

My schtick is to make it known that it is a waste of time to pursue PharmD before MD.

Sure, people can change their minds and it's their life to waste, but all basic information on medical school admissions, medical specialties etc is readily available on the Internet and getting a PharmD before a MD is clearly suboptimal any way you spin it

Why do you ask? It’s a “online forum” where people are free to voice their opinions. You have the option to ignore them or respond to them with your perspective and substantiate your opinions instead of complaining and whining about it. What’s next, start asking why the MCAT is so hard?

Yea but this isnt even about an MD after a pharmD. Ive seen it even when people pursued other things. Misery loves company though.

Also guidance on pharmd to md is not “readily available on the internet” hence why i asked for advice. But if you know a website where it is, please let me know. TIA. 🙂

why do people argue when you look for advice to leave the pharmacy profession even though everyone already complains about it everyday on here & encourages people to do other things anyway?
BECAUSE THEY WANT EASY MONEY. PEOPLE ARE NATURALLY LAZY AND LIKE WATER SEEK THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE. THEY WANT THE EASYEST MONEY POSSIBLE AND THINK PHARAMYC IS IT. SO EVEN WHEN WE TELL THEM THE GRAVY DAYS ARE LONG GONE THEY STILL TRY TO CONVINCE THEMSELVES TO DO IT THINKING THEY WILL BE DIFFERENT.

PharmD is basically like any other major as long as the med school prereqs are met so there is no specialized advice that would be any different aside from having to justify missing rotation time for interviews if applying to med school during the last year of pharmacy school. And most people who apply to pharmacy school in the typical manner do many of the prereqs for med school anyway.

You would just have to make sure not having a bachelor's officially (if you went to a 0-6 program) matters or not.
