Why UNC?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You're the one who made it about yourself. You've yet to raise a salient criticism of the admissions process worth discussing, so we're talking about you by default.

I wish this site had a popcorn emoticon.

What issue? The one that keeps you out of medical school? We've discussed this ad nauseum.

Prove it.

I will need to respond to some of the attacks because they were laughably flawed.

Nah I've raised a good point. You just hate anyone who criticizing UNC or something you have done. Other people have discussed it. But, you on the other hand seem to like attacking people. Hey, people are different. You are just one of those people.

You should know the issue. Were you reading posts on this thread? You had one sentence answer on your post before this one. It was the last line. And frankly it was nonsense. It made the whole concept of sarcasm seem pathetic.

You like to romanticize about medicine. Everything is great. The students, doctors, and the inner workings of the field. You wouldn't have it any other way. Because it scares the crap out of you when you think about the reality. You blatantly ignore people who try to put some reality into your head. So get through life by attacking people when they criticize something that you are associated with. That's real cheap. Your mom wouldn't be proud of that. You are a typical pre-med who thinks doctors and lawyers are the best professions out there. Please give me a break. Medicine is and always will be a derivative of mostly biology, chemistry and physics. This is because it is an applied science. By realizing this reality, it deosn't make medicine inferior. But, of course if you let your emotions fly wild then yes it probably does.

And I know at least 3 people who have gotten low (<=9) VR scores and they were born in this country. Does it show that they don't know the language? No. Everything has one good reason. Don't try to make your reasoning the one good reason. Because you failed at that. 🙂

So the one who needs to take out the angst of their teenage years is really you. Grow up. When your patients diasagree with you don't slap them down verbally or in your head. Think about their point of view objectively instead of getting all emotional. Emotions lead to the downfall of people. I am just trying to warn you because it can have terrible consequences when you try to give a piece of your mind to your attending during residency. It could literally RUIN your future.

It's funny how you make negative conjectures about me. That's a typical 21st century human being. These people think about the negatives in every situation and convince themselves that their view is the reality. Haha. I am laughing happily every time you personally attack me. Maybe you have some sort of inferiority complex. Maybe you are mad about something in your personal life and you come here for cathartic release, who knows. But, it's just silly and it makes you look like a fool. So, please refrain from revealing the true you.

At the end of the day, you have refused to argue about the issue of accepting different kind of students into med school. Instead, you like to resort to personal attacks because you can't control your emotions. It's also the easy way out. No need for emos like you to be discussing this issue anyway because you will never see the other side.
So, sorry but thanks for playing.....
Next.

I guess with neil's post i might as well let everyone know that was accepted to UNC SOM in like Dec. I was just using this to make my decision. That's all. Also, I feel bad for neil cuz he clearly woked hard to get in, (we are MCAT and GPA twins). I am a sci-major with a pub and research. Neil, I think you being OOS was the final stake in your heart though. I understand your frustration. I am just as pissed at Duke. I hate their admissions process now.

What are your other choices?

This thread is about UNC, only UNC, and the reasonings that apply to going to UNC. The OP does not need admissions advice or commentary. Please focus on the original topic.

Baylor (in state) and UNC (in state). (don't ask why just accept it).

Since you're a research guy (I assume that because you said you've published), you might find the research opportunities at Baylor to be worth the extra expense. I've heard a lot of good things about them. UNC is a good research school, but there's definitely more of a primary care focus.

Man...I cant believe I just popped that one out. Kind of hurt a little.

and thama gets slapped down for personal attacks.

About time! Some justice here🙂
