Getting real neurotic here for good measure.

I was curious if adcoms are going to view final grades from this semester any differently since most people's tests are now going to be online. This would mucho suck as I got a couple B's last semester but have been doing pretty well with grades up until now...

Ya think adcoms will dig deep and be just a little kind and not view grades from this semester with a grain of salt?

I'm sympathetic towards those negatively affected by COVID-19 (particularly those coming from low SES backgrounds). However, all students are being negatively affected by these disruptions and uncertainties, and many will no doubt continue to thrive despite these challenges. Why should an applicant who did poorly this year be given special consideration (barring extreme personal circumstances)?

Medical training (and the practice of medicine) requires one to be adaptable, and this is a trait looked for in the selection process. Just my thoughts

Following this!

I've had the same concerns, but most of my friends thus far told me it'd be hard for med school adcoms to crosscheck every school, and its a big assumption that we all had easier semesters due to online classes.
Only time will tell, I'm afraid.

I think you misunderstand. I'm making the stretch that good grades this semester will be viewed with less clout since they were awarded online. Meaning a 4.0 during Spring 2020 is "less impressive" than a 4.0 during any other semester since classes and tests were administered online - presumably making things easier.

This is some next level neuroticism, but I was curious so I thought I'd ask. Doesn't really change anything for me or anyone else tho

A single semester isn't going to negatively affect your transcripts. SDNers are advised to not obsess about single metrics.

My guess is that you will plug your grades from this semester into AMCAS, just as you will with your grades from every other semester, and they will count the same. That said, unless you perform really poorly (I realize OP is doing better than before), one semester will not have a major affect on your GPA.
