i have 4 credits of F and 4 credits of C in calculus and chemistry. I got a 22 on the DAT and i think that, with my better grades since the bad ones, made up for my somewhat low 3.09 science gpa. no school forgot about my bad grades; in fact i discussed them in all of my interviews, but it was a good opportunity to talk about what i learned and show maturity👍

Yes, it offsets it. It's all about balance with ADCOMS.

how bad? >3.0 Apply early and to alot of schools, that should help.

I hope so.

Maybe I'm ahead of myself, but this first semster of college is...bleh...
Ok even though all grades aren't in yet, I think I'll have a 3.0? (-_-) sigh. I was looking at a sexy 3.8 but all I can say is that, "I got BSed". But then again it's the first semster and I'm a freshman...

Dont let the amber nectar of life get you. You still have time to set yourself up for an easy application.

For me anyhow, an abysmal undergrad GPA was mitigated by doing well in a postbacc program and doing well on the DAT. FYI, I took the DAT twice: scored a 21 AA and 25 AA the second time- I wasn't exactly sure if the 21 would be enough, so took quite few practice exams and did better the second time around. One interviewer I spoke to told me that he "Appreciated the time I put in trying to turn my academic credentials from dismal to respectable." Of course, I was summarily rejected from all the dental Ivy's, which was no shocker, but have been granted accepted into some good programs in the past two weeks.
