In the event that I get accepted, should I be concerned with getting a C- in physics? Thanks

I believe that most, if not all schools, require at least a C for completion of a prerequisite. I believe that physics is a prereq for most schools as well. To be sure, I would call in to verify.

I think it depends on the school. Best to not drop TOO low from what your grades have looked like but I personally don't see schools rescinding acceptances unless you simply don't meet their standard so like Harambe14 stated, I wouldn't get a C- if their cut off is a C. Just my thoughts for what its worth🙂

This could be me next semester with physics 2, yikes.

You'll need to retake on a C- prior to matriculation. So, get a C or better and you won't need to worry about a possible rescinding.

Thanks, just wondering where you found this out? Is it possible that because many colleges don't run on a +/- system that they meant a C in general?

@Harambe14 is right. At one of my interviews, admissions officers said you MUST get a C at the minimum, and that a C- DOES NOT meet the standard and will lead to the acceptance being rescinded.

I haven't seen a college that doesn't run on a +/- system. The closest I've seen are colleges that do not do A- and consider 90-100 an A. Also, there are some schools that consider 95-100 an A+ and that GPA may be a 4.3 or 4.6.

Regardless, a C- is a 1.7 GPA. A C is a 2.0 GPA. A 2.3 is a C+ GPA. I doubt they want under a 2.0 for a required course. Your best bet is to confirm with the school of your choice.

I attend a major state university and we don't have + or -'s. Nor does the local Community college. While I lose out on a potential 4.33 averaging into my GPA, I'm not complaining since a quarter of my A's would probably be A-'s at other schools.

A friend of mine was finishing up his pre-reqs during summer quarter and got a C- in anatomy. His dental school immediately took away his acceptance, and now he's having to do some sort of associated masters program to regain acceptance for next year. I know every school has different policies, but if I were you, I would try my absolute hardest to get at least a C.
