I am a nursing major going into my final year and I planned to apply this cycle. I realized that I wanted to pursue the path to medicine after a year and a half of my undergraduate studies. As the opportunity was there, I completed both the pre-med prerequisites in addition to my nursing coursework/clinicals. I had a number of experiences that shifted my aspirations and these will be explained in my application. I have worked hard to form a competitive application. That being said, I am concerned that I will take a hit for completing both tracks at once and not acquiring experience as an RN. I realize that the path to medicine in a marathon, but I am sure about my desire to become a physician and the opportunity was there. Will I be at a disadvantage in the application process?

Based on what you said (not knowing your stats etc.) absolutely not. There's nothing wrong with finding your way in undergrad. It sounds like you'll be able to write a good story about discovering your desire to become a physician while in nursing school. Good luck!
