Will I be late for this application cycle?

Hi you guys, so I have a question. I think May is when I can apply for the 2010-2011 cycle, and I have everything set and ready to go. The only thing not ready is my shadowing stuff, which isn't going to start until April at the earliest. I think the deadline for a lot of schools is in October. Do you guys think I can make it or no?? And also in June I will be heading south of the border so I can't shadow for about 2 weeks. Thanks!

Start your shadowing in April or May, fill out your application as soon as it's available. Write about the shadowing before you're done with it. As soon as you're done with the shadowing experience, hit submit on the primary. Then, you've got yourself an extremely early submission. No problems.
