Will I need Biochem after Step 1?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Will it ever show up on Step 2?

You're going to need it daily as a practicing physician. It is likely the most important subject during your first two years of medical school.

Um, no. I've been in practice for a few years now. I didn't use it at all for Step 2 in 2000, and actually gave my books away in 2001. I have to say the only book my wife (class of 2004, different med school) and I have mentioned we wished we had kept (and hence bought another copy) was "Microbiology made ridiculously simple" -- actually, maybe it was "Pharmacology made ridiculously simple." I have to say that I don't even know how to spell D-N-A. I only know what Tryptophan is because I learned IN FELLOWSHIP that it eventually turns to dopamine, and apparently there's something called the "Kreb's cycle"?

I'll just leave this here...
Stolen shamelessly from the Med Student Memes thread.
