I have completed 68 units at a community college and 12 units at USC. I have 4.0 science and overall GPA. 1000 hours of dental clinic volunteering, 200 hours of hospital volunteering, Have been a tutor at my college for a year, have been an SI leader, and have alo been volunteering in an educational project at USC. So I mean I don't have bad EC activities.
I'm shooting for a 24+ on DAT [and I believe in myself]. Do you guys think I will get into dental school this year if I get a 24+ on DAT? I do NOT have a degree as it must be clear by the end of this paragraph.
I turned in my application last week, and I'm taking DAT on July, 22nd [in 10 days]
All opinions are appreciated.

If I'm getting this right, you are a newly transferred junior and want to know if you can get admitted without bachelor degree.

Here is a link for the table by doc toothache.

Since you are probably Californian, you may be disappointed with the Californian schools' % enrollee w/o bachelor.

I gotta tell you sth though. I got admitted to dental school in my country [they won't accept any of my units here, but I have official evidence of them] and attended dental school for three semesters. [Dental school is a 6 year program at my country that you can get in it after taking one year of preuniversity courses].
Yeah, that list is disapointing, but could not it be maybe because of low % of applicants who don't have bachelor?
Thanks

It could be, but as you can see, it's still just 1 or none at 4 schools.

Is attending an out of state school gonna cost more for tuition? What schools would you recommend me to apply? Yeah, I'm a Californian.
What schools would you recommend to apply? I have already applied to 5 in Cali, and I can still add more.

Some schools may say you have too many CC credits, I may be wrong...
Only problem is that you may be applying late and you only have 12 non-CC units. Read up on some school admission reqs to make sure.
The 4.0 is nice 😀

GOOD LUCK

I turned in my appliation last week, and I'm taking DAT on 22nd this month. How about that?

I think you can apply to most of private schools except the ones that do not accept CC credit.

Here is another great table by doc toothache.

Thank you so much for the charts. Good info!
I have taken my science based courses at an accredited good College. Do you think I have a chance considering my EC activites and my previous 3 semesters at a dental school in other countries[I have completed 60 units of tough general health sciences such as physiology, anatomy, histology, ...]. DO you think I have a chande if I nial the DAT?

I don't know, man..

If you had just 8 more courses at 4 yr university, then I could say you have good chance. (assuming you score 24+ on DAT)

Just email or call admission offices to ask their opinion.

That 24+ seems like a pretty big assumption right now...

A 24+ is a RIDICULOUSLY high score. Even if you don't do THAT well, you absolutely have a shot.

Thanks for all the answers. Anyone else could give me their opinion?

I am no expert and am part of the group applying with a bachelors, but you just might get lucky and get in. If you don't I have heard that adcoms do like second time applicant so next year you are probably golden if you keep your stats as high as they are. Good luck pulling that 24+.

If you do get a 24, I'd say you might get a SLIGHT shot. Most school's require that you take the core sciences at a 4 year university, which would account to over twice as many as what you have (12), so I would assume you would automatically get rejected, but a 24+ might give you a raise of an eyebrow from the adcom, if nothing more.

68 CC credits and only 12 University credits, especially with NO degree, usually means 110% rejection. JMHO

If I were you, I'd save that money and apply at the normal timeline, so that you will have a degree upon matriculation. It's hard enough getting in with no degree, its a whole different ballgame when you have only taken 12 credits at a 4 year University. The usual requirement for almost all schools are at least 30 (2 semesters of each of the core sciences).

A 4.0 is impressive although it may be viewed with some reservations since most of the courses were taken at a CC. The 12 hours at USC should be more significant provided we are talking about some hard core courses. It would, however, be even nicer if that number of credit hours at USC was greater. Having attended ds in another country is considerably more significant the 1000 hours of dental clinic volunteering, which is an overkill by anyone's standard. There is nothing wrong with shooting for the stars, but be prepared in case you crash land your DAT capsule.

Is this correct? "Most school's require that you take the core sciences at a 4 year university,"
I took the second session of Ochem and physics at USC, and I'm planning to take 24 units of science classes this year. I got the 4th highest rank in a class of 240 student at USC in Ochem II, and my professor has already put that on my LOR.
Here are my Kaplan diagnostic scores:
Bio 25
Gchem 25
ochem 29
PAT 21
RC 20
QR 30

Nope, I will have finished my 3rd year by then [assuming I get admitted]. See this is what is annoying me. I have attended dental school for 3 semester 2 years ago in my country. I went through all health science courses like 2 physiology courses, 2 biochem, 1 anatomy, 1 embryology, 1 hystology, medical physics and ... with excellent grades, and it makes me feel so stupid to keep on being an undergrad and taking classes like BIO101 [I have already taken the two general bio classes though]. What I mean is that I can't stand wasting too much time in undergrad. Do you feel what I'm going trough?

Thanks for the link. What it shows is that most of them accept up to 70 units of CC. So I don't know why was the other SDNer saying that most of them don't.

Most would probably prefer not to see CC courses.

interesting. Actually, the ochem I couse that I took at CC was much harder than the Ochem II at USC. I mean the professor would ask much more details, and kick our ass on small mistakes.

That would be the exception.
