Around the end of last November/beginning of December, I had an inner ear infection that sent me to the ER and had me bedridden through finals. I relapsed upon returning to school with the vertigo/ear problem and though the infection is gone, I have to do ear rehab every morning.
This impacted my academics; I had to practically beg for a medical withdrawal (while on Valium---that was interesting). The school granted me the W's for the failures, but told me I had to make up the class I passed that teachers didn't give me a pity A for (physics, which I am making up this term.) I am redoing orgo now along with two other elective courses that I had to lobby for---I got into them two weeks late and managed to catch up, even get ahead. Regardless, this is still a part-time load, and I still will be under doctor's watch over the summer. Thus, I will have to take orgo 2/lab at home.
I know I have to put this on apps when the time comes to apply, but I am wondering if I am going to completely be screwed by this. I also have a chronic illness to deal with on a daily basis (congenital glaucoma but my eyesight is fine with glasses.) I never dropped any classes before the two last term, I've done research for one semester and I've been fairly active in two campus organizations, and I will be getting in my shadowing this summer.
Thoughts?
