Will MD schools know if I applied to DO as well?

I just recently decided to apply to a couple MD schools, while I main priority was to get into a DO school since the beginning. Would the schools know? Please don't make this a why DO/MD thread 🙂

For AMCAS participating schools, I don't believe there is a way.
I believe TX will know if you applied to TCOM.
AACOMAS participating schools also won't know if you apply to MD schools (again, except for TCOM).

Even if they did know I don't see why they would care. They know you aren't going to apply to only one school.

Wouldnt the MD school question why I applied to DO, and the other way around?

No, they would probably assume you really want to be a doctor and you're using the DO schools as a backup. If they knew anyway. Many people, myself included, apply to DO and MD. If anything DO schools will be more concerned if they find out you applied MD so you might want to try to keep that from them.

It wouldn't matter at least to me if they knew. In fact, I won't mind if they ask my about it during the interview. You should just let them know that you care more about becoming a physician than the label that comes after your name.
