It's the end of the quarter.
I was showing my dad around campus and then we got a drink at Starbucks and sat down.
Then after 15 minutes or so I noticed some lady with brown hair staring at me. I turned and smiled very quickly.
I am blind. Well not really, I have a -2.50 prescription but I'm used to only wearing my glasses in class.
My dad then told me some lady (her) was staring at us the entire time.
Then I realized, it was my professor!

I feel like I was so rude, not saying hello or anything. Her class is pretty "holistic" according to her, she takes into consideration everything.

Could my rude interaction with her affect me?

This thread is useless without pics.

She will holistically look at my grades harshly lol. 🙂

Yeah you're definitely failing the class, I would just withdraw if possible

Out of curiosity, what class is it?

Is this an option for people at other schools? To withdraw so late? I would loveeee that.

But seriously, couldn't being rude hurt you? After all, being nice can help.

That wasn't being rude. Unless this is a < 10 person class where the professor knows everyone by name, there is really no need for you to be best buddies with your professor. And even if this is a < 10 person class, something as trivial as not saying hello shouldn't have any bearing on your grade.

True, I just don't know why she was staring at us. I'm just paranoid!

Perhaps she's just a curious person? If she teaches philosophy, she likely has some natural sense of curiosity in her.

Because I'm a paranoid freak like you, I would approach the professor next week and say "I didn't have my glasses on and didn't realize that was you at lunch, so sorry!". Not even because I would be worried about a grade but because I would genuinely feel bad (I'm an overly friendly person so not talking to someone I know would kill me on the inside).

In all honesty though, I can't imagine it would impact your grade.

I know, that worries me too. Her class was amazing, I would have even thanked her.
Oh well, I'll take another one of her classes! 😀

If she lets the lack of an interaction in Starbucks affect her grading and lowers your grade for that, who is the rude one...

You're overthinking this OP.
