Ok, Im in a wine class this semester...

its under the "Environmental and Biological Sciences" department... which is different than the bio dept...

but would you put it under "bio" "other science" or "non science"... so it doesn't matter too much since it is only a 1 credit, but being a bio would be best for me 🙂

Would it be bad to put it as a bio? i mean there is a lot of science in wine (ie. fermentation and such)

are you drinking the wine only or are you learning the science behind it? if there is no talk of science and you're there with a bunch of other oenophiles having a good ol' time, i don't think that's a science, and i think adcoms would laugh at that.

we are learning the science, although its not too hard... we had 3 tastings this semester but they were purely bonus...

If you think you'll get an A, then put it under Bio Sciences. If anything lower, then put it under other sciences. Tweak the numbers a bit. If they were really that important, they would have clearer instructions concerning the ambiguous classes.

If it is not in the Biology department, then you cannot list as a Bio science. I am pretty sure that AADSAS would change it to other science anyway.

True, but I called AADSAS a while back and they said, ecology, genetics, micro ect... were all "bio" and none of them are in the bio department at my school... each of them have their own dept. and to me the department of "environmental and biological sciences" seems as much like a bio as the ecology dept

if the department that offers the course has the words "biological sciences" in it, i think it would be safe to assume it could count as a biology.

I'm taking this class too for fun!!! However mine falls under Chemistry since it's a wine making class. But for you, I'm think yours can be categorized to "Biological Science". Have fun in your class.

I studied that independently and got about 50 units of A's. Unaccredited though.
