Hi,

I recently took the MCAT this past Friday after submitting AMCAS on June 11. I scored a 507, 509, and projected 512 on AAMC FL1, FL2, and unscored respectively, and had planned to submit all of my secondaries after receiving my score in mid-July. While I didn't feel bad enough to void, I think that nerves may have gotten the best of me and I'm worried my score may be lower than I'd hoped.

Keeping this in mind, what should my plan be in regards to my AMCAS? I haven't been verified yet, and I am aware that I can withdraw now to prevent being a re-applicant next cycle, but I feel as though I shouldn't in case my MCAT is fine. As of now, I only listed one school on AMCAS just so I could get verified, so should I keep it this way until scores are released? Will schools be quick to send secondary applications if I add them to AMCAS in mid-July and am already verified? I am working on secondary essays for all schools now, and plan to have most ready by the date I receive my score.

Thank you!

Although it may be too late for you, this is why applying only to one throw away school is helpful. I don't remember if I had the option to remove schools while I was being verified but it may be worth it to see if you can pull some schools if you will be a reapplicant

if you only submitted to one school, keep it that way for now. When you see your score you will know whether to add more. The benefit of submitting to one school now to get verified is that later on, each school you add will get your application in its entirety in one business day.

It's very common to walk out of the MCAT feeling like you did poorly. Wait and see, there's no use worrying about it for now.
That's very true, and it's hard to remember much from test day. I just wanted to ensure that I have a plan for the worst case scenario.

It wasn't quite a throwaway, but I did only apply to one school as of now.

Okay great, that's what I'll plan to do. If I need to withdraw when the time comes, will I only be considered a re-applicant at the one school I listed, or from all schools since it will be post-verification?

Just at the school you actually applied to. AMCAS does not know which schools you were thinking about adding
