AAMC GPA’S: 3.8s, 3.6c, 3.97 post - bacc (43 units)
24 year old white male
NY
1.5K hr clinical volunteering
1.5K hr clinical employment
DO LOR

Applied to ~20 DO, ~10 MD. As we all know the application process can get expensive. Working with limited funds, should I direct all my money/time to DO secondaries and just drop my MD apps?

Would be more than happy to go DO and I’m really Interested in EM, FM, Anesthesiology if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

Keep your in-state NY public med schools, and maybe Jesuit schools and Rush. You are not a traditional applicant and that will work in your favor.

I certainly wouldn't want you to put the cart before the horse, but I'd also look into how much the deposits are at some of the schools. I have heard that some require a non-refundable deposit to secure your spot and I wouldn't want you to feel that you have to make life-changing decisions because of that.

Your chances are far far better with DO.
