Sorry to drag up such an old thread, but it was the most relevant one I could find. I'm contemplating withdrawing from my online cell bio class, as it was just removed as a requirement for the only school I am applying to that had it as a pre-req. Ordinarily I would finish it out, as I've heard it's a valuable class to have taken before vet school, but I'm concerned about finishing it on time - I have 2.5 weeks until my final and still so, so much to do...like hundreds of pages of reading, many lectures, not just review. I won't bore you with my reasons for starting so late, blah blah moving blah blah other surprise class. I have a B currently and I'm not sure if that would/could go up so it wouldn't necessarily boost my GPA. With working full time I just haven't had the energy or time to devote to studying anywhere near as much as I need to. I'm wondering if a W so close to the time I'm applying in a class I'm not planning on retaking reflects poorly on me. I don't have any other W's on my record and a strong last 45 GPA, but my cumulative is low and I'd rather not hurt my application any more. Pros: actually having time to study for the GRE, write my personal statement, and work on my other class (genetics), and maybe regaining some sanity. Cons: wasting money, the dreaded W, and maybe some guilt for taking the easy way out. Any input? Or stories of successfully completing a class in wayyyy too little time?🙂 Maybe I'm just reminiscing too fondly on the days where all I had to do after work was walk the dog...
