Withdrawals

Just wondering how carefully dental schools look at them. I currently have four(one each semester during 1st and 2nd years).
Most of them were do to changing my major in the middle of a semester.

What do you guys think?

I think 4 is not too bad. Dont bring it up if they dont

Salty, I don't think it will affect your application much, if at all.

Another positive thing that is working towards your favor is that they happened in your 1st and 2nd years. You could point out that your final two years you haven't had any, and right off those initial ones to getting used to college and finding classes that really worked with your schedule and interested you.

After all, Ws are much better than failing.

I have the same concern. I have about 8 withdrawals over the past several years while I was figuring out what I wanted to do. But, my gpa is about 3.6 and science gpa is 3.8 with 2 classes left. 8 is a lot but I'm hoping it's not that big of a deal if they can see that I'm capable of doing well. Any thoughts?

your GPA is good enough.
the Ws' shouldnt be a big deal.
like what other have said, dont bring it up if adcom dont mention them

Thanks for the support guys, to tell you the truth, iwish I used more. Especially since I got a D in Gen. Chem. 2 and have to take it over. Oh well, you live and learn.....i guess.

I'm almost 100% sure that the adcoms will mention your Ws in the interview, but if you can back it up then it shouldn't be a problem.

Make sure you have a good response ready. And, above all, include some mention of how you've learned from those Ws.
