Are we supposed to email every school we never heard back from that we'd like to withdraw our application from further consideration? I deleted some of my rejection emails so I'm not entirely certain which schools have already given me the ax. AAMC uses the word "recommends" below...so... it seems like we don't "have" to. Lol.

"The AAMC recommends the following to help ensure that all MD and MD-PhD applicants receive timely notification about the outcome of their application and to protect schools and programs from having unfilled positions in their entering classes. These protocols are often referred to as “Traffic Rules” by admissions officers and pre-health advisors.

10. Withdraw your application from consideration at all other schools or programs as soon as you enroll, or start an orientation program prior to enrollment, at a U.S. or Canadian school or program."

Yes, you must. If you still have any open applications (ie no withdrawal), it will prevent from any future applications being processed by AMCAS, meaning you would not be able to reapply. This withdraw request are actually due by today, April 1st. I would hurry up and do so.

When I read that... my heart rate spiked and I went from casually lounging in my chair to sitting up straight. lol. Good one. 😛

You got me too, and I'm 4 years past that. 😛 "Wait I matriculated and didn't withdraw from my waitlists!"
