Withdrawing Applications?

I initially applied to 5 schools via AACOMAS, but now I've decided that there is only one school I want to go to. I don't care if I don't get accepted this year--I'm willing to wait and reapply just so I can go to this school.

My question is about withdrawing my applications. I received secondaries from all the schools, and I just filled out the one for the school I want to go to.

Do I need to call the other schools and officially "withdraw" my application or just not send in my secondary?

I think it will be better if you officially withdraw,since you are planning to re apply. Also it saves the school the time they spend on sending reminders. 🙂

Does everyone basically agree with Optimistic? Don't get me wrong--I'm not doubting Optimistic. I just wondered if anyone else had a comment.

dont worry about withdrawing. If you havent sent in your secondaries they will just round file your letter.

I applied last year but decided not to fill out any secondaries because I wanted finish up my final year of Graduate School before starting Medical School. It didn't seem to hurt me as I was accepted to UHS in December. I did send offical "withdrawing" letters to schools after I was accepted though.

Don't waste your time with a phone call or stamp, I say.

Cause, some will take your secondary, and your fee, and never respond to you anyway. Use your time focusing on the school you want...and forget about those less important.

Afterall, they have more applications than they can handle anyway. 🙄
