Hey Im taking summer session post-bacc classes and I think I am doing poorly in one(in danger of getting a C). I cant make that determination yet because I think it may be a curved class. But if it comes down to it, would it be a big deal if I withdraw? Its a lab prereq. I have one other withdraw on my transcript from an accounting class i took a few years ago during my bachelor's(I withdrew because it conflicted with work).

1 or 2 "W" won't kill your application, but if you have 3+ on a post-bacc, it becomes troublesome.

Honestly, I dont plan to have any more after this. This is my first time taking summer classes and I underestimated how quickly things move. Im also taking Orgo(which I am doing well in so far) and part of the reason I want to drop is because I dont want it to hurt my chances of getting an A in Orgo. What do you think would be more damaging, a C/B-/B in the lab class or a withdraw?

I think getting a B or B- in a lab section is not a big deal. I had 2 Bs for General Chemistry and was never asked about it.

How is your sGPA? If you have a 4.0 right now, a C in a credit or two isn't going to bring you down enough to worry about. If your sGPA is marginal as it is, you probably should protect it as much as you can, which probably means withdrawing if you think you are pulling a C, especially if you think not withdrawing will also hurt your chances at getting an A in orgo.

I'm around a 3.6 in both sGPA and cGPA. The thing is, i wasnt a science major so I have relatively few science credits. So a relatively low grade in this class will probably barely put a dent in my cGPA but will probably decimate my sGPA. Do you think a 3.6 is marginal enough to where I should be protecting my GPA?

Is the class 1 credit or 2? How many total science credits will you expect to have when you apply? How many are completed already, and how likely do you think you are to maintain As in the rest of them? If you will be able to maintain a 3.6+ in everything else, your GPA hit won't be huge even if the class is a 2-credit lab class, but if it will bump you down from an A to a B in orgo, it probably would be worth withdrawing....
