Hey, I was recently accepted to my top school and I am holding a seat at another school. I sent in my deposit Friday so they school will probably not receive my official acceptance until Tuesday. I know I have to withdraw from the school I am holding a seat at but I want to make sure everything goes through and there are no problems with my acceptance at my top school. Does anyone know the rules? Or what I should do?

I think if you are accepted and they are waiting for your deposit then there is a low chance that they don't let you in or anything, if you want to be sure you can call your top choice school to make sure everything is ok before you drop the other one, can I ask which school are you dropping?

Make sure you are officially accepted to your number one before you withdraw. You don't want to get stuck without an acceptance after all that work.

I'm relinquishing my seat at Tufts. Are you on a waiting list or something?

I'm not sure what the guidelines are for withdrawing, but I think calling the admissions office and speaking with someone directly would be the safest. I am on the wait list at Tufts (fingers crossed) and have had good luck with communication back from their office. Best of luck to you!
